Intelligence on The Intelligence of Asia

I read an interesting article on CNBC about US Intelligence assessment of Asia's rising global dominance.  The article talks about how Asians ecomonies especially China's will grow to have more global influence as the West's influence will decline.  This global rise is predicted to happen in 20 or 30 years.  20 or 30 years is a long time and anything can happen.

It is somewhat safe to assume that Asia will have the largest economic influence in terms of GDP than Europe and North America combined.  China will surpass the US as largest economy in the world.  Some Americans may fear this, I say take advantage of this trend.  Investment your money into stocks, funds or ETFs that will benefit from this trend.  Investing in foreign securities especially emerging market securities can be risky.  However, some asian economies have current account surpluses and rapidly growing GDPs.  This trend is unlikely to change and I believe one should take advantage.  I will not select companies nor funds or etfs one should invest in.  Do your own homework and talk to your financial advisor.

To allieve some of the fears about China and Asian's growing ecomonic power, I agree with the article's assesment that it is highly unlikely China or Asia as a whole will surpass the US' superpower status.  No country on earth has the resources, respect, recongition, and military power that the US has.  It would take a huge amount of resources to build a military like to US.  I doubt China would make such an investment without ruffling the feathers of some in Washington.  However, I do believe China and Asia would be a force to be reckoned with and will have a huge say on what goes on globally.

Also the article states some Asian nations will use nuclear weapons in a war against other asian countries.  This is unlikely to happen because US superpower status as the number 1 global military power.  Destroying a nation's electronic infrastructure is a possibility via nuclear weapons but once again there will be fear of the possible impact this will have on the US and the US' response to such an event.  Like the Moon which acts like a stabilizer on Earth's rotation, the US will act as a global stabilizer for a very long time.  However, computer warfare is a certainty and one should be prepared by investing approachly and protecting one's computer systems.

Anyone please read the article it is pretty good read.
